Carol Guardo, Ph.D.
Carol J. Guardo has over four decades of experience in higher education as a professor, dean, provost, trustee, accreditor, and president. She served as president of Rhode Island College and the Great Lakes Colleges Association and also as interim president of the College of St. Benedict and Saint Joseph College. The author of one book, Carol is widely published in both psychology and higher education. Her most recent articles deal with the benefits of interim presidencies and managing the expectations of multiple constituencies. She has served on major higher education association boards and delivered numerous addresses at their annual meetings. Prior to joining Stevens Strategy, Carol worked as an independent consultant conducting more than two dozen projects in the areas of strategic planning, governance, academic restructuring, and presidential evaluation. Carol holds a B.A. from Saint Joseph College (CT), an M.A. from the University of Detroit, a doctorate in psychology from the University of Denver, and a D.H.L. from Saint Joseph College.
